All for One

I would like to create a series of 6 large pieces to exhibit and spread the word about this fascinating subculture of mail artists.

I will create a 40 x 49" vaguely rendered, secret portrait painting on heavy paper. I will cut it up into 224 ATC size (2.5 x 3.5") pieces that I will distribute to anyone interested.

You will embellish the cards as you like and return them. I will reassemble them into a single "painting". Depending on how much or how little the pieces change, the initial image will still be evident. You'll see as I post finished paintings.

I will distribute cards in lots of 6, but you may sign up for more than 1 lot. There will be 37 lots to complete each piece (plus 2 leftover cards, for which I have plans - mwah ah ah)

I would also like to compile a book to display at the exhibit to include & give due credit to each contributor so please include a short tidbit about how long you've been making mail art, how you learned about LMAO's, any favorite swaps, or terrific connections you've made through swapping, etc., that you'd like to share. This is optional.
I haven't confirmed a gallery with which to exhibit but will post that information when I do.

I'd like to complete each piece within 2 months of it's launch. The first in the series was launched on May first, and I will post the next on the first of next month and so on.

In a nutshell -
1. You sign up by emailing me!
2. I mail you cards, already painted.
3. You embellish, decorate, dance with, etc.
4. Mail back to me within 2 months
5. I reassemble into one big painting & exhibit.

I will post photos of finished paintings and will work out a way to provide you with a return of each image to which you contribute - perhaps a good 8 X 10 print.
